Situated along Florida's Gulf Coast, Tampa boasts miles and miles of white sandy beaches. The city is the 19th largest metropolitan area in the nation, and it provides a unique cultural heritage to both visitors and residents. It also hosts the largest port in Florida.
In early September, Mayor Bob Buckhorn and other community leaders cut the ribbon on the 22nd Street Enhancement Project. The project includes provisions for pedestrian, streetscape, and roadway improvements, including improvements in traffic flow, landscaping, irrigation, sidewalks, bus stops, and a 10-foot, multi-modal trail. Mayor Buckhorn says the project is about more than just improving infrastructure and will help generate economic opportunity to transform the community.
