Named by The Princeton Review as one of the 295 top business schools worldwide, the University of Tampa's Sykes College of Business offers a variety of real-world opportunities through its five centers and institutes. Each center focuses on a critical aspect of business, namely ethics, leadership, entrepreneurship, strategy, and governance. Each center promotes its topic of focus with curriculum resources as well as public service opportunities and research.
The Center for Ethics, for example, hosts a number of community events, including an annual ethics and business breakfast through which it presents an ethics award to an outstanding professional in the Tampa area. The TECO Energy Center for Leadership hosts both courses and speaker series for students as well as professionals in order to discuss challenges in leading today's businesses. Additionally, the Florida Directors' Institute partners with local organizations and professionals to host programs aimed at optimizing effectiveness of directorial boards.
Meanwhile, casting its eye toward future leaders, the Naimoli Institute for Business provides real-world learning for students by allowing them to assess the strategies of local organizations. Finally, the UT Entrepreneurship Center works to build a nationally regarded entrepreneurship program and help its students accumulate essential entrepreneurial skills.
